What is a Watermark?
A watermark can often be found on high quality brands of artists paper. It is a translucent design or name that is visible when paper is held to the light.
They are used to identify the brand of paper without actually effecting the paper surface, they were originally used in bank notes and currency to ensure such items were authentic and not forgeries, today water marks are used in artists paper to give an air of quality about them, but serve little purpose.
